Tyne Valley is the market centre on the western shores of Malpeque Bay. Port Hill and Bideford are neighbouring towns named for two similarly situated towns in Devonshire England. The nearby Lennox Island First Nations reservation was designated by treaty in 1876, after PEI entered Confederation.
The Shipbuilding Museum in Port Hill hosts annual events including Canada Day; Seniors' Garden Party, July 13; Concert on the Green, July 21 and Aug 11; Kid's Day, July 31; Blueberry Social, Aug 18. Weekly events: Tuesday Evening Kitchen Chatters, Thursday Evening Sea Shanties or Ghost Stories, and Look Back and Learn, a children's program every Mon, Wed and Fri afternoon.
