Hiking takes you into the world of nature. Reaching from island tip to island tip, the Condfederation Trail covers the backbone of the island. A number of spurs let you reach the sea in between. The trail bed is crushed stone with many points of access This trail is rated: Beginner and is open year round. Horseback Riding
PEI is horse country. you can rent a horse or learn to ride at several stables around PEI. If you want to do some riding, the Confederation Trail (TransCanada Trail) is a good place to ride. If you need to rent a horse, try Rodd Brudenell River Resort by Cardigan Bay (902-652-2396). Ice skating

Martial Arts

Rugby is about as rough and tough as football. Its probably as much fun to watch as play! Check out the teams and leagues in Charlottetown: Rugby in PEI is run by the P.E.I. Charlottetown has a number of Rubgby fields: Charlottetown Rural High School, Colonel Gray Senior High School, Lower Malpeque Road, Queen Elizabeth Park, and at Spring Park Elementary School.

Running, Track & Field

Skiing, Cross-Country

Skiing, Downhill
IN PEI, the only major hill is Brookvale (which also hosta an annual equipment swap each October, which is located southwest of Charlottetown 902-658-7862. PEI Ski and Snowboard School is based in Charlottetwown. There are several ski hills in the Maritimes.
