Historic Queen Street
Follow the boardwalk around the Delta Prince Edward Hotel, to end up on Queen Street. This area of Queen Street has been center of commerce for over 150 years, and in that time has been ravaged by fires and devastated by downturns in Victorian shipping. Historic Queen Street in Old Charlottetown, is one of the oldest streets in Charlottetown. These days Queen Street offers year-round shopping at specialty grocery stores, a liquor store, two theatres, home decor stores, banks and many internationally flavored restaurants.
Victoria Row in Old Charlottetown
From Queen Street, turn right on to Richmond Street. Victoria Row runs from 110-166 Richmond Street. The street, laid out with old-style street pavers, was once the market centre of Charlottetown twice destroyed by fires that swept through the commercial district in 1866 and 1884. The area was rebuilt in Victorian style with brownstone structures and cast iron storefronts. Today, Victoria Row offers an assortment of restaurants with outdoor patios, and many craft and gift shops. Pedestrian-only during the summer months.
