Anti-Smoking Laws
Prince Edward Island has passed provincial legislation since Spring 2003 that limits smoking in restaurants, bars, workplaces and other public places to designated smoking areas. These areas must be either outdoors and structurally separate from non-smoking areas, or, if indoors, must be enclosed rooms equipped to exhaust smoke directly outside.
Many public places such as retail stores, malls, recreational and educational facilities, public transportation, movie theatres, libraries, art galleries and museums are entirely smoke-free.
